ONE EMBANKMENT PLACE

One Embankment Place, the iconic building above Charing Cross Station designed by Sir Terry Farrell, has been occupied by PwC since 1991. Having decided to continue to make the building their London HQ, PwC embarked on renovating the interior and base build with the brief of creating a flexible, intelligent and sustainable workplace.

TP Bennett was asked to lead the fit-out scheme to completely transform the building whilst 50% of staff remained in occupation.

The design concept focused on the creation of a central hub zone on each floor linking the existing North and South atria. Previously fully enclosed and surrounded by offices, these spaces now provide visual connection floor to floor, house refreshment areas and collaborative workspaces.

Shadbolt manufactured bespoke FSC® certified, control random matched, crown cut American black walnut veneered doors, panels and solid hardwood frames to the building. In addition, toilet cubicle fronts featured Shadbolt’s Spectrum range of “walnut” and paint lacquered fire doors and doorsets were also supplied.
