November saw the return of the renowned Overbury Charity Music night with our Sales Director, Paul Shadbolt, on keyboards, helping out the house band up on stage. The standard of entertainment continued to be high and the Shadbolt team enjoyed a night catching up with familiar faces from the fit out industry.

Our staff are the heartbeat of our factory and so, we do our best, to ensure that they have a stimulating environment in which to work and we are constantly looking at ways they can be challenged and inspired outside of the usual working day.

As part of this initiative we recently held a ‘Performance Chemistry Workshop’ hosted by respected dietitian, Celynn Erasmus. With a focus on nutrition, Celynn’s workshop allowed staff to see that an investment in their nutrition would have a positive impact on their overall health.

In addition to this, the factory have also started a series of classes on meditation, which we hope will provide them with some much needed peace away from the hubbub of a busy factory.

We are often asked by clients how to accurately specify a Shadbolt product and so over the Summer we have updated our specification clauses on the website so ensure that they are clear and accessible to all.

Whether it’s a Shadcore FD60, a Shadsecure PAS24 security door or some Wood veneered acoustic panel lining, we have all the clauses readily available to you, in an easy to download format.

September marked 11 years since we moved the factory from Chingford to Braintree. In that time we have increased our square meterage  at the site, to accommodate the increasing demand for our services and invested in new machinery, to ensure that we remain at the cutting edge of technology in our industry.

Over the Summer we have been focusing on developing our Acoustic door range using our new acoustic seal systems on a range of door configurations.

We were delighted with the results across all areas including, glazed, unglazed, single and double doors.

In addition to the continual investment in our factory since our move here 11 years ago, we continue to try and create a comfortable working environment for our staff, so over the Summer we installed a new canteen and updated the staff facilities throughout the factory and office areas.

Shadbolts continue to push their product development in all areas and we are proud to update you on the following developments in our testing of the ShadSecure product offering.

ShadSecure PAS24 doors have successfully completed a full programme of independent testing to PAS 24 and PAS 23-1 and achieved a Pass in all aspects.

Following Team Shadbolt’s successful completion of this ridiculously tough challenge back in May 2016, for some reason, they signed up again for this year’s event and even managed to recruit five new talents to participate!

We are both pleased and relieved to have welcomed them all back to work in one piece – great job Team Shadbolt!
