ON A WINNING STREAK!

We don’t like to blow our own trumpet but recently, the BCO (British Council for Offices) announced their 2018 BCO Awards winners and we couldn’t help but notice, that we had worked on a number of the winning projects!

London Commercial Workspace Winner: The White Collar Factory, Old Street Yard, EC1
For this incredible work space we were asked to supply an array of our products, all bespoke and all FSC certified. The co-ordination of such a variety of products with differing requirements on one job was a challenge but one that we rose to, ensuring that our project co-ordinating team managed the needs of the client and provided each individual element, on time and in line with the delivery brief.

  • “Black Grey” RAL 7021, “Pale Green” RAL 6021 and “Pure White” RAL 9010 factory paint lacquered FD30, FD60, FD90 and FD120 fire performance doors and framesets.
  • PAS24 certified security doorsets
  • High performance (42dB SRI Rw) doorsets
  • Stain finished straight grain European oak, veneered 3 panel pattern, toilet cubicle flush rebated doors, pilasters and interconnecting dividers.

London Corporate Workspace Winner: Bloomberg Place, 4 Queen Victoria Street, EC4

This iconic project was an exciting one for Shadbolt and we worked closely with the Architect to hand select the FSC certified straight grain American cherry needed for this job. It was decided that control random matched veneered panels, doors and doorsets would be made from the veneer selection so, our expert craftsmen then ensured that each element of the matching process complemented the other elements around it, creating a seamless scheme from floor to floor.
In addition to the veneered products on the project we also supplied “Signal White” RAL 9003 paint lacquered doors that required FD30 and FD60 rating which we achieved with our unique Shadmaster solid laminated timber core, which also allowed these high performance doors to also be sound attenuating and FSC certified.

London Highly Commended Refurbished: The Adelphi Building, 1-11 John Adam Street, WC2.

The Adelphi is an iconic art deco building and the project to re-furbish it, took its iconic status into account in the sympathetic design of the refurbishment. We were asked to manufacture and supply, bespoke horizontally orientated, straight grain European oak veneered panels, fire performance doors and toilet cubicle fronts.

The horizontal matching throughout called for a highly detailed analysis of the scheme by our veneer team, to ensure that the horizontal matching was seamless throughout the project. This was made even more challenging by the fact that all the veneer was a stained finish, meaning only perfection was going to be good enough. In addition we also supplied factory primed doors and framesets for decoration by the interiors team on site.

London Highly Commended Commercial Workplace: 1 & 2 St James’ Market, 52-56, Haymarket, SW1.

For this project we were asked to manufacture and supply, bespoke horizontally, random matched lacewood veneered toilet cubicle fronts with routed hardwood inserts. This was not as simple as it sounds, as matching the unique characteristics found in lacewood has its challenges, so it was key that the veneer we sourced for this project was of the highest quality and as consistent in character as possible.
In addition to the washroom cubicles we also supplied factory spray lacquered Pure White RAL 9010 FD30 and FD60 43dB high performance acoustic doors and doorsets. You may think that supplying plain white doors compared to random matched lacewood veneered toilet cubicles is a doddle, but you’d be wrong - trying to keep them clean throughout the production process and onto site presents it’s own unique challenges!

We are not just London focused when it comes to awards, oh no!

Scotland Commercial Workplace Winner: The Silver Fin Building, Union Street, Aberdeen.

For this prestigious build north of the boarder, we were responsible for the manufacture and supply of bespoke FSC certified book and turn matched, straight grain European oak veneered, flush rebated veneered toilet cubicle fronts which were all stained and finished. In addition we also supplied fire and acoustic performance veneered doors and doorsets on the project, all over 9 floors and 13,000 square meters!
