Situated opposite England’s Grade II listed Central Criminal Court, the 240,000 sq ft refurbishment of 20 Old Bailey in the City of London has been comprehensively modernised by Buckley Gray Yeoman on behalf of Blackstone.
Extensive structural alterations and internal remodelling has led to the replacement of the building’s tired 1980’s facade and substantially revised the inefficient layout of the existing building. A two storey extension has been added whilst carefully detailing and designing the roof to take account of the building’s position within the St Paul’s Cathedral viewing corridor. In addition, a central ‘street’ and atrium has been introduced bringing much needed natural light and bustling thoroughfare used by all tenants.
